(5,633 posts)The electoral college has been the law of the land for 228 years. Yes it may be outdated, but the immediate aftermath of losing an electoral college vote is not the time to challenge it. It stinks of sour grapes, and if the positions were reversed, we'd be ridiculing Republicans and the Trumpers for YEARS.
Legally, this is a case that cannot be won. She'd be laughed out of court before her lawyer was able to say "Good morning, your honor."
For die hard liberals, i can see how this argument makes sense. But the vast majority of the country just wants to take comfort in knowing we will have a President, and that the wheels of government and our society will keep turning.
I see a silver lining in this election. Trump will be up for election again in 2020. And since he's bound to screw it up, the Dems should steamroll the elections. And since 2020 is a Census year, WE will be able to be in charge of redistricting. We have the opportunity to dominate elections for decades.
