Thanksgiving dinner with family [View all]

I keep seeing all these suggestions about how to keep peace at the table with political discussions. I admire the efforts and think that is a noble idea. I chose not to join a family gathering that could include Trump supporters, not because of what they might say. I am the one I was worried about. I am not calm. I am actually terrified and I am the one who would rant, scream and leave bad feelings at the table. To quote the Dixie Chicks...." I am not ready to make nice". I can understand why some people thought he was speaking for them, but the educated, kind and reasonably Christian people who ignored all the awful things about him make me furious.

My husband, sister and I will not be exciting or fun.....but we will be in accord.
