(33,339 posts)11. My husband (74) and I (65) are advising our oldest son (30) and his partner
to do what you are considering. They think it might take them two moves--one out of the south where LGBTQ are demonized--
and then out of the country.
My husband and I have considered moving as far away as we could get--Hawaii--from the gun nuts, bigots and hate-filled white supremacists.
We don't have the energy or patience to start anew in another country (and Canada doesn't want retirees).
Personally, I think we are facing very dark days in this country.
