Globalism is a weapon that is being used to make American workers poorer. [View all]

Employers have used globalism to stifle American workers' wages by forcing Americans to compete with ultra cheap labor elsewhere. They have used it to defeat unions by closing factories and moving them overseas. They have used it to put millions out of work and to frighten other workers into not fighting for their rights.

As long as we allow jobs to go overseas Americans will never see wages keeping up with inflation, much less keeping up with productivity growth. As long as we allow jobs to go overseas, unions will never flourish again. As long as we allow jobs to go overseas, workers will never be able to fight for better health or retirement benefits.

Aside from cheaper TVs, globalism has nothing to offer American workers. It doesn't give the working class access to cheaper health care, cheaper education, cheaper food, or cheaper rents - all of which have been consistently going up in price. Globalism destroys more jobs than it creates. It stifles wages and by nature, it crushes worker's rights.

Oh, and TVs aren't cheaper because of globalism. They're cheaper because Moore's Law pretty much applies to manufacturing as well as computer chips.

Take a look at the benefits of globalism. Notice that American workers are the only ones who aren't benefitting?

Why should American workers not rise up and completely destroy a system that preys upon them? Destroy the predator. Destroy globalism.
