I think we need to consider the opposite approach: globalize labor protections, environmental protections, food and drug protections, etc. – globalize the kinds of laws that would protect the people both here and abroad from predation by the 1%.

I don't think we can or should wall ourselves off. What's needed is that we all start policing predators everywhere.

We could all be employed, keep more of the wealth we create, and work less hours under healthier conditions.
