(151,953 posts)The reality is that none of us has much to do with the outcome at this point. That's frustrating, I know, but there it is. We failed to deliver enough votes for Clinton to win. That part is our fault, to some degree. Had we done so, we'd be celebrating instead weeping. Other factors are in play, no doubt, but, had turnout for Clinton been larger those factors wouldn't matter. To win, we have to win decisively, and that means getting everyone to the polls to vote for the Democratic candidate. We didn't do that in 2016. Now, we have to deal with that, and it's really, really painful.
My concern now is for those who will suffer from a Trump administration. I'm hoping to find ways to help keep the suffering to a minimum for specific groups and to help Trump from getting everything he wants. Still, I'm just one guy in Minnesota, so my impact won't be very large, but I'll try as best I can. I'll exercise what privilege I have.
