they should (or could) remove him. It sounds like he got a talking-to (giving the FAs the opportunity to decide whether he was drunk, in which case he would have been removed), and made to understand he had to sit down and shut up for the duration of the flight, but of course I agree that they should have booted him. I'm guessing from their memo that Delta will make it clearer to their employees that they need to be willing to remove passengers for that sort of behavior on the basis of passengers' complaints. Maybe other airlines (and other potentially assholish passengers) will get the message, too, on account of all the publicity this incident generated.
