There is a political crisis in our country. [View all]

This political crisis is presently being fought by the two major political Parties.

Our long-standing institutions are being attacked at every turn. Our schools and unions are struggling to survive. Even firemen, policemen, and mailmen are under assault. In fact, our entire established government is threatened by a radical, right-wing, anti-government Party that is being funded by the wealthiest people in our nation.

Over thirty years ago, the conspiracy was hatched. The idea was that if they could run our country far enough into debt, then there would be no money for any more government programs. At the time, they did not imagine that we would not have money for any government programs. They succeeded beyond their wildest imagination.

If the Democratic Party does not find a way to counter this threat, then America will soon be in a deep decline from which we cannot recover. Our roads and bridges will deteriorate rapidly. Within five years, many of our highways and cities could be in ruin. Simply because no one wants to raise the taxes needed for a functioning society. We are in a crisis.

The country is in desperate need of leadership. We need someone that can lead us into battle against these forces that would destroy us all. We cannot continue to compromise and make deals and pretend that no one has to sacrifice. This enemy is as dangerous as any foreign enemy we have seen since a militarized Soviet Union.

There are no easy answers. We need everyone to pay their fair share of taxes. Taxes are the price we pay for a decent society. When we have both Parties bidding to see who can cut taxes the most, they are both our enemy. They are both destroying the nation that we have built.

With more taxcuts, there will not be more jobs. There will not be a better economy. There will only be the dog-eat-dog world of international competition. The wealth will continue to go to those at the very top as our middle-class sinks into lower class poverty.

That is our future if we do not recognize the crisis we are in and act to fix it. We need leadership - we don't need tax cuts.
