Current rules treat the net as a utility, equal access to all. When/if that is removed, the carriers are free to charge more for certain types of traffic. Of course initially, streaming video will be in the crosshairs (streaming is in direct competition with, for instance, Verizon FiOS, AT&T Uverse etc)

Now I can see a day when, under political pressure, carriers will be free to censure the net using free market price based measures. Don't think it can't happen here.
