20. We can't give up or give in

We can't let the GOP co-opt what it means to be an American or what it means to be patriotic or take over symbols such as the flag. We have to make sure we use all of those.

At the same time, we need to organize locally, starting with our local and state elections. For far too long, Democrats have not had enough interest to participate in them. This needs to be stopped and turned around.

We need to talk to our friends and neighbors about real everyday issues that affect all of us. We need to get them involved and be a part of the solution. We win when we get more people involved in the process of governing. We get more people involved because our ideas are better.

It is going to take a lot of work but the GOP has been doing this for decades. We need to get to work immediately.
