(2,067 posts)If I saw true self-examination and discussion of new campaign tactics, new types of candidates, etc., I would be very hopeful, as I think the Trump presidency is going to face a backlash at the polls in 18 and 20.
But when the Clinton campaign came out a few days after the election and only had outside scapegoats to blame for the losses (Comey, the media, etc.), and when DU came back online and I saw that 75% of users were thinking the exact same thing (adding in Jill Stein and Bernie Sanders into the mix), I realize we are indeed fairly doomed. There is so much humiliation at the Clinton loss that folks seem more likely to hold onto their pride that "she was screwed" than to admit mistakes and try to fix them.
Until more Democrats start focusing on how we can win, instead of why we should win (we're right, he's unqualified, etc.), I am unfortunately very pessimistic.
