47. So....here we are

I had to take a break from DU for awhile back before the general election. What I saw going on here became intolerable. I voted for Hillary in the general because there was no other choice at that point. And like most of the Democratic world, I assumed she was inevitable. Bad mistake.

So now we're stuck with this lunatic for one reason or another. I've been depressed about it ever since. I have no doubt that he's going to destroy most of what I care about. In particular, the environment and wildlife. Even if sanity returns to the office in four years, the damage will already be done.

Californian secede? Dream on. I hear the same thing from my friends in Oregon. And the area of CA where I lived previously was as deplorable as they come. When the rest of the world comes together against the U.S., do you think the nuclear fallout will stop at the CA border? Or the Canadian one? Besides, Rump would never allow such an action from the West coast. Expect troops.

What is darkly amusing, for lack of a better word, is that in the past, America would have been sending in troops or assassins to stop this spread of fascism. Time for us to think about what we're going to do going forward, and come up with a serious plan. My email inbox is clogged every day with petitions to sign.
