Why Men Oppress Women

4. Women have been mistreated far longer than any other group throughout history.

I suspect much of it stemmed from men fearing they'd unknowingly support offspring from other men, and so they tried to control women to prevent it.

Not to mention how might equaled right more frequently in the past (although it still happens too often around the world today) and men tend to be stronger physically.

EDIT: And it sometimes happens now because old religious texts, written during a terrible time in history for women, are considered the words of God by some idiots.
