The widely discredited Laffer Curve? The tax code was far more progressive back then (that is an undisputed fact). The very wealthy have been having it far too easy for far too long. If they went back to paying their fair share, the government would have far more money coming in. Hell, even letting the Bush tax codes expire would bring in tons of revenue.
