I think there are probably some people who voted for Trump for reasons that don't necessarily involve bigotry or hate. No doubt it was a primary factor for many, if not most, but I think we might be overlooking some useful information if we just assume that bigotry and hatred were the only drivers. I don't think it's quite that simple. Life and people rarely are.
None of the reasons are adequate, however. There's no excuse for voting for Trump. Regardless of the reasons, the result's the same.
