Pick which point on the slippery slope you want to stop. The be prepared to defend why the previous sentence is not racism, but the following sentence is.
If the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) fights against Native American children being adopted by or placed in foster care with non-Native American parents, to protect their culture, is that racist? What if there were a "welfare act" that prevented Asian children from being adopted by white parents, to protect their culture? Would that be racist? What if white parents were forbidden to adopt a black child, to protect that child's culture. Would that be racist?
If there were such a thing (God forbid) as a Southern culture of white supremacy, where blacks are to be subjugated, should that cultured be respected? If there were such a thing (Allah forbid) as a culture of Muslim male superiority, where women and non-Muslim are to be subjugated, should that culture be respected? If there were such a thing (Gott bewahre.) as an Aryan culture, where Jews are to be exterminated, should that culture be respected?
Some cultures simply do not deserve to be respected. Period. That's life in the real world. Deal with it.
