He thinks, he will go down in history as the biggest and the best...



Let's look at the facts:



Donald Trump had had no consistent republican convictions before becoming the republican candidate.

He was regarded as an outlier-candidate and, as a result, got massive free media-coverage.

Turning the anti-government rhethoric of the Republican Party against the Republican Party, he was able to defeat the other republican nominees, who hailed from the political establishment.

In an unprecedented move, FBI-Director James Comey incorrectly hinted to the public that Hillary Clinton was under criminal investigation, only to later backtrack after voters had cast their votes with that in mind.

After the election, the CIA concluded that russian hackers had retrieved sensitive data from RNC and DNC-servers prior to the election. However only data from the DNC was passed on to Wikileaks, who leaked it, surrounding the DNC and Hillary Clinton even more with an aura of scandal, even though there still was none. It is unknown, why the data from the RNC wasn't leaked.

On a related note, prior to the election as well, Donald Trump unilaterally changed the republican policy-platform to be more friendly to Russia and publicly maintained Russia's innocence despite receiving US intelligence briefings to the contrary.

As for the election itself, happening under the cloud of misinformation described above, Donald Trump won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote by 2.6 million votes to Hillary Clinton. Of further note is that the voter-turnout was the lowest in 20 years and that almost every poll had predicted a victory for Hillary Clinton.

The election-result was marred by severe accusations of voter-fraud from Green Party-candidate Jill Stein and, notably, the winner of the election, Donald Trump himself. However, technical problems severely limited the recount-efforts or rendered them entirely impossible, leading to no changes to the result.
