3. My son is home on 2 weeks leave right now.

He is heading back to Afghanistan tomorrow. He is coming for dinner tonight and it will be the last I see of him until at least October. He seems fine and is looking forward to going back... to Khost, the place where a suicide bomber killed 3 US troops and 17 Afghans today. He doesn't get what this is doing to me. I will be 50 years older by October.

If your friend wants to talk PM me. And there are some good lists of care package items on the web, but lots of good hiking socks, beef jerky and dried fruit works for my kid.
