people voted for trump after it was reported that the russians hacked dnc. And Trump's strong pro-Putin stance was on full display since the primaries. He even changed the GOP platform on the issue of Crimea. This is not a coup because trump was very open about his admiration of putin as many republicans (they are obsessed with him).

It's no shock the republicans aren't interested in democracy - they would be totally fine with one party rule.

The issue is that we grossly overstimated our democracy. We are a republic with strong corporate influence. We will be more like Russia where opposition is suppressed, permits to protesters are denied and government controls all media. In trump's case - he will control media through corporations.

It is treason, only if you consider russia as foe. trump is positioning russia as a key ally and no longer a foe. Welcome to alt reality.

Within weeks of inauguration, we may witness lifting of all sanctions against russia and encouragement of investments into Russia. Sad times for human right but good for business I guess.
