83. Ya know what's REALLY annoying? People posting stuff in GD that really belongs in Meta.

The Statement of Purpose for the General Discussion forum says:

Discuss politics, issues, and current events. No posts about Israel/Palestine, religion, guns, showbiz, or sports unless there is really big news. No conspiracy theories. No whining about DU.

You are clearly whining about DU. As a GD host it would be my perogative to lock your OP for being off-topic. Only I don't feel that I can do that at this point, since so many DUers have gotten involved in this discussion, and one of our other directives from the Admins is to not lock OPs when there's an active discussion going on.

I volunteered to be a host because I want to help to make DU not suck, but off-topic OPs such as yours aren't helpful. I will echo what some others in this thread have said: you have the power to hide the threads you don't like. General Discussion covers a lot of ground. Hiding the threads that don't interest you or offend you lets you tailor your experience of GD to your personal specifications.

Please, next time you want to complain about DU, post it in Meta.
