(98,883 posts)extraordinary occurs, it will take at least a entire generation to undo all the damage that potentially can happen.
All the progress that had been made with Civil Rights, Women's Rights, Environmental Rights, Health Care, etc. will have to be re-fought.
Those issues were already under attack.
Safety Net programs such as Social Security and Medicare that we have taken for granted, they are going to try and decimate them.
My first election was for George McGovern.

The legislature have already pledged to do everything to counter a trump presidency:
"We will be reaching out to federal, state and local officials to evaluate how a Trump Presidency will potentially impact federal funding of ongoing state programs, job-creating investments reliant on foreign trade, and federal enforcement of laws affecting the rights of people living in our state. We will maximize the time during the presidential transition to defend our accomplishments using every tool at our disposal.
While Donald Trump may have won the presidency, he hasnt changed our values. America is greater than any one man or party. We will not be dragged back into the past. We will lead the resistance to any effort that would shred our social fabric or our Constitution."
