10. My doctor was invited to the White House last Monday

Hers is an innovative practice called a "Patient-Centered Medical Home" (google it) and preventative care. She was one of 25 medical practitioners invited to the White House by Obama to discuss her innovative and cost-effective practice. My next appointment with her is Monday, June 25. (I have to travel 700 miles round trip to see her, but it's worth it). I can't wait to see what she has to say about her White House visit.

Unfortunately, her successful practice has made her very unpopular with the state medical establishment. She gets great results at low cost to the patient. The same ideas that got her an invitation to the White House have garnered complaints from other doctors who care more about making money than they do treating patients and she recently had to defend herself in front of the state medical board. It is these types of actions from the other doctors that make me believe that the vast majority of doctors care more about the money than they do the patient. I therefore accept the OP's comment about doctors.
