I know I once was taking a pottery class and there was this woman in it. We were friendly, would hang and chat.

She once said, "geee you're really nice for a liberal". I thanked her and chuckled and said something along the line of "yeah, my friends are pretty much the same way".

She said she'd actually never spoken to a liberal before!

I don't have the answers, but I feel pretty strongly that the hate-bubble of propaganda that is broadcast everywhere, repeatedly 24/7 for yearrrsss is a real big part of it.
