10. Pooly written but he is NOT equating Trump to Christ or Kingship

Christians frequently use the Present Continuous Perfect tense to indicate that an action that happened in the past (at the time of Christ) continues to happen in the present.

For that reason its not Christ rose, Christ has risen but "Christ is risen". In that sense Priebus is intending to say that "Wise men sought the Christ and are still searching for the Christ".

Beyond the unnecessary confusion about who he was referring to as the "King" is the completely inappropriate linking of a political party to personal religious affiliation as if the RNC is an extension of the community of believes.

On top of that is the superficial understanding of the verse in the first place. The Greek tem is "Magi" and was not a term of respect among the Jews as they represented the "Magicians" of the pagan religions who didn't even (in the eyes of the first century Jews) know of YHWH, His promises and His law. The point of the verse is that the power of the anointed one was so powerful that it would eventually extend to the simple but uneducated sheep herders on the one hand and even the sophistry of the elite intellectuals of the pagan intelligentsia who remained unsatisfied with the cosmology of their limited local gods and would be washed with the awe of the Christ once Jesus full Ministry was completed.

It is written in a way that should make any Christian over the age of 14 embarrassed by its superficiality and its attempt to make a theocratic link to a political party.
