8. I must disagree with something that was said by a poster on this thread.

It may sound like a logical point but..........................If private citizens had guns, and used them against the legal
laws of the time, and shot some of the people who were sent to round them up, immediately the totalitarian state in which
the laws were, would send in the army or cops and immediately..KILL the shooters..

Once the Nazis got in, no one would believe that they would indeed do waht they eventually did. Couldn't happen in a modern state like Germany. Hitler wouldn't start another war so soon..after the Great War..that killed millions of people..Would he?
Remember there was a peace movent in the mid 20s thru the mid 30s. No one wanted another war..It would be much worse
people thought. After Hitler broke his word in 1937 in Czechoslovakia, then the rest of the world thought there would probably be war with him.

Well, Hitler already had a 5 year start on rearmament, and the Bismark (that huge battleship) was already being built..To say that Hitler and the rest ofthe oppressors might not be so bold..if guns were taken from the Jews and others who were exterminated...is absurd.
