I'm amazed at the vitriolic responses to my post because I still love my brother. He's the only family I have left, and I'm not about to cut him off. He has supported me thru thick and thin.

If you think you're going to bring any Repugs over to our side by shutting them out completely, and telling them how you hate them, then we will lose another election. Simple as that. We lost this time because, unlike the guys at the top of the Rep food chain who are only looking for money and power, most of these people felt like their concerns were not being addressed by the Democrats. We can't blame it all on Putin. People who voted for Trump were manipulated by their fears. Are many of them total assholes like their leader? Absolutely. You're never going to rehabilitate a sociopath. Democrats thumbed their noses at the rest, and wrote them off. Made them feel stupid in our superior smugness. Some of them are listening to intelligent discussion now, and starting to regret their votes for Trump. That's a start.

Both sides need to find some kind of common ground to build on, or we are indeed all lost.
