Over the last quarter century:

The Republican party has become exponentially more angry, detached from reality, win at all costs and extremist in its views.

The media has completely abandoned any pretense of engaging in actual journalism, has lost all sense of service while engaging in self gratuitousness and of course becoming whores to the Republicans.

The country as a whole is now flat out stupid as fuck.

Trump is not happening in a vacuum.
