1. I remember in 1990s when premiums were going up 30% every year, even as you increased

deductibles, copayments, etc., to try to afford health insurance. And back then, they'd cancel you in a second if you got diabetes or something. If you had insurance through work, you were pretty much stuck there unless you were willing to risk finding other insurance before COBRA ran out.
