5. No, they won't, and here's what will happen

1. The GOP guts Obamacare. 20 million go uninsured.

2. A “Hey everyone! Look! What’s that (crisis / event / problem / concept) over there??!” diversion immediately ensues. The GOP races to address said (real or imaginary) issue without bothering to deliver any of their pledges on "fixing" health care.

3. Anyone who questions why these pledges weren’t kept is then derided as obstructionist, anti-American, unpatriotic, biased, “reporting fake news” (that’ll be a big one, I’m afraid - they’re already immediately labeling any uncomfortable facts as “fake news”). The GOP will shout down detractors by insisting “What were YOU doing while we were taking care of (diversionary issue they ran off to ‘address’)? You liberals are all problems, no solutions, no ideas of your own, etc. etc. etc.”

4. Rinse and repeat. Trump supporters vote to re-elect despite the string of failed or empty promises because “liberals in charge would be so much worse.”
