In reply to the discussion: New NSA docs contradict Bush Administration 9-11 claims [View all]Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)I quit watching the mainstream media for good in 2006 when, during the results of the mid-term elections, as it was announced late that evening that the Democrats had taken control of the Senate when Senator Burns was defeated by Tester, Tom Brokaw swiveled in his chair and said, "This isn't right, there's something wrong here."
As if Brokaw "knew" what the outcome of an election was supposed to be before the votes were counted.
As if Brokaw was never worried about the Democrats being able to take back control of the Senate and stop Bush from destroying the entire country.
I didn't know if Brokaw realized it or not, but at the time he did that, any credibility he had ever had -- ever -- went right down the sewey pipes.
They had already fired Dan Rather at CBS for telling the truth about Bush going AWOL during the Vietnam War, and MSNBC had fired Aaron Brown for his accurate reporting of how Bush handled the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
So, I relied on other sources for my news from then on, Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O'Donnell.
I knew Sawyer was on one of the major networks, but since I don't watch them, I didn't know which one.
I never liked her style of reporting.
