4. Even assuming it was a 4chan lulz... why would we believe them when they confessed?

Everyone knows that 4chan is a sink of lies and infamy. Nothing there is trustworthy. Including taking credit for something.

See, if a community builds its reputation on being the internet watering hole for jackasses, asshats, douche canoes and slime, then that reputation wins and nobody gets to say, "but this time we're telling the truth!"
