Prior to Griswold many states made the use of contraceptives a criminal act.

But for more than 50 years the Supreme Court has acknowledged a fundamental right to privacy consistent with the original understanding and intent of the Framing Generation.

Privacy rights jurisprudence prohibits the states from interfering with the protected liberty of deciding whether to have a child or not.

The right to privacy is settled, accepted, and beyond dispute; that most conservatives have contempt for this right and disdain for the Constitution, its case law, and the rule of law comes as no surprise.
