2. I love Hopleaf. I moved in with my girlfriend who had an apartment a few blocks away.

She is now my wife. But early in our relationship we would do our laundry at the mat a couple doors down from Hopleaf and we would throw down a few Belgians and get all snuggly and buzzed while our clothes spun about. This was back in the mid 90s through early 2000s.

Hopleaf has a ton of great Belgians on tap and in bottles, as well as other craft brews. They started doing food about 15 years or so ago. Great mussels and French/Belgian country fare. It was way chill in the 90s with good crowds on the weekend, but you could still get a seat.

Nowadays I recommend getting there before 4 pm. on any day if you want to get seated for dinner, and forget about the weekend for a date unless they're into rubbing elbows. Just go early, park your butt with some good friends, and enjoy.

(P.S. became really awesome after the smoking ban. Remember your leather coat smelling like an ash tray all week?)
