I don't think many Trumpkins have thought through the demographic consequences for Latino-bashing even starting as early as 2018.

Latino-bashing is different from bashing Afro-Americans. There are a lot more of them, and there are a lot of them in electoral vote-rich states.

I tried to imagine the results of last year's election if Thump carried every state he took last time except Texas and Arizona. There are already enough Mexican-Americans in Texas to mean that the Lone Star State is no longer majority-white and every year more and more of them turn 18. I don't have the figures for Arizona, but I'm pretty sure it's no longer as majority-white as it was in 1980. if just those two states flip, Donnie or Mikey are not going to have enough electoral votes to win again.

Texas Latinos have traditionally been non-voters. Take away Medicare, take away the ACA, diss even the Latinos who've been thoroughly Americanized, and Donnie and the Rethugs will find that 2020 will be a very different political landscape.
