Must read comment on NYT Letter to Editor from wise man in SCarolina who FRAMES the GOP perfectly. [View all]

From “Jumper” in South Carolina:

“"Those aspiring to powerful positions by becoming popularity contest winners don't need truths. They just need massive public relations campaigns.

President Obama and others, including moderate Republicans, have told the truth. Republicans, self-righteously grasping for power have inflamed the incensed denial that they'd caused this nation's mess. Instead of listening, Republicans kicked out all their moderates and, like those 13 year old boys trashing the school bus monitor, have relentlessly trashed all the reasonable voices.

Adults straightened out those boys. Now, who is going to convince all those voters who've been turned into delusional haters by Republican-Koch-Adelson propaganda money to stop hating, listen, think about, and demand credible, workable solutions, and compromises?

Tell unpleasant truths in politics, voters do not listen, and if the truths impinge on special advantages the wealthy have given themselves that disadvantage the general population, they'll spend obscene amounts to obscure, blur, and divert voters from the truths.

We have a jobs problem because Republicans relentlessly opposed pump-priming job creation. Our recession started because Republicans relentlessly pursued deregulation and our banking industry was looted. We have a deficit problem because Republicans dropped the income tax rate to 35% from 70% and now want to gouge the short-fall out of working Americans.”"
