I happen to be a Christian.

I believe Barack Obama is a Christian as well. Not because he says so - they all say so - but because lots of the things he has said reflect the same sort of nuanced thinking that I engage in to reconcile my faith with the scientific realities of the observable world. I think I've caught a glimpse of him wrestling with the same sort of contradictions and mysteries that I wrestle with.

I also believe Hillary Clinton is a Christian. Not because she says so, but because she has been quietly consistent about her Methodist faith throughout the years. She strikes me as someone who believes faith is a personal matter, and not to be used for self-glorification.

I doubt that Donald Trump has given much thought to the issue of religion. He probably has a superficial belief in "God". He probably thinks "God" loves and blesses those who are smart enough to work and fight for the things that they want. "Jesus" is the Son of God, so, therefore, important as well. But I doubt Donald Trump would have much use for some Rabbi who told him to sell all he owned and give the proceeds to the poor.
