18. Dan Rather vouched for documents he didn't and couldn't authenticate

because he believed in a story, and lashed out critics and his own employer for demanding that he substantiate the documents and story.

The fact that the alleged expose was highly critical of Bush is immaterial. Defending Rather is supporting "fake news," not real journalism.
