Then as a demagogue, his next step is to consolidate his power. He's doing this by de legitimatizing and breaking other centers of power. We can see this in his castigation of the media and the war with the intelligence community. The Republican party and congresscritters are already scared to do anything until he gives the ok.

His other tactic is to silence his enemies by threats: tweets that can drop stock prices overnight for companies and incite death threats for critics. . .
