In reply to the discussion: BREAKING NEWS WI DEMS HACKED BY RUSSIA [View all]susanna
(5,231 posts)56. No, there was no reason given.
This was an interesting quote in the section on the hack: "as one expert observed, it [leaving a bit of a trail] was a 'big cyber F-you.'"
Later on in the book the author points out how absolutely furious VP was with HRC; both for her actions policy-wise as SecState, and in her campaign speeches. The author also surmised that she would be VP's worst nightmare - especially vis a vis NATO - if she won the presidency.
It's a fascinating book. Some I take with a grain of salt, but it certainly builds an interesting case for much that happened during this past election.

It's likely that one of Putin's goals is to undermine faith in western democratic systems.

I will go to my grave believing that Hillary won and should be in the White House.

absolutely, but election hacking is hard to prove, and has literally no penalty even if proved.

Excellent post! I feel exactly the same way. I'm furious with the sneaky, underhanded GOP, but

No. Really. The IC and other departments needs to get a handle on this.
