10. I happen to be familiar with the broadcast rights of one of those schools...

and it's not so simple. In that case, the university has a 10 year contract with an outside firm who sells the broadcast rights; and another contract with the conference over some shared media revenue.

The university administration does not make decisions on a regular basis with individual radio/TV stations or even networks - those are essentially up to the contractor to get the most coverage and money as they can for athletic events. In this case, the contractor also sells tickets, manages events other than games (like concerts, truck rallies, etc.).

Of course, the university can hire a different media contractor, but with the Board of Trustees appointed by Rick Scott, who is one of the worst crooks that the Tea Party has ever produced...well, it's unlikely the BOT will approve a progressive vendor (if one even exists).

In short, I'm not surprised that in Florida, all the flagship schools do their local broadcasting on RW networks.
