He also surrounds himself with evil minions such as Stephen "The False Prophet" Bannon, Kellyanne CONway, and other bootlickers who tell him what he wants to hear and shield him from reality.

I wouldn't say he's mentally ill because IMO, mental illness implies an affliction; being mentally disordered is different AFAIC. He has a severe personality disorder that impairs his ability to function if he's challenged in the slightest way, even by objective reality.
