7. The FBI already has a hefty presence in Chicago.

But, here's the deal: The FBI does not have the manpower or background knowledge to take over policing of a city as large as Chicago. Not even close. Policing is done primarily by the line cops on the street and their immediate supervisors. Chicago's police force numbers include about 12,250 officers, along with about 2000 other employees.

The FBI has about 13,800 actual agents and about 22,000 other employees, total. It cannot field a force of officers sufficient to police Chicago. No way.

Trump has no freaking idea of what he's talking about. Now, the FBI could, conceivably take over the administration of the CPD, but that would not materially change how the line LEOs would behave, and the FBI doesn't know Chicago well enough to actually handle the job.
