The whole thing keeps harping on welcoming the stranger and the alien (for you were aliens in Canaan), looking out for the widow and the orphan and the others left behind by society. Since "jihad" means "holy war," I do indeed regard my opposition to the selfish and the oppressor as a sacred calling.
