... to organize politically and try to make the rest of us follow their wackadoodle rules.

A homeless shelter or a soup kitchen can apply for non profit protections just like any other charity.

They should pay their fair share like everyone else and the fact that they meet once a week to share in a communal delusion shouldn't be a reason that the rest of us pick up their slack.
