9. I've been traveling into Mexico more frequently of late

After living in the US for 40+ years as a US citizen born abroad. I've had a chance to meet with many members of the US ex-pat community in Mexico, particularly in San Miguel de Allende where I'm considering retirement.

They love the place.
They love the people.
They love the atmosphere.

Most of all, they love being loved, and feeling welcomed.
