53. The reality is they govern by consent

We consent to allow them to tell us what to do. As long as they govern within the lines we will all play nice. We became a nation because we didn't think those who governed us were doing so within the lines. We are a nation of rebels. If we weren't we would be a British colony. That is our nature. That is who we are. Our reps may have forgotten that or maybe they think we have. Either way, they are in for a rude awakening. I've seen posts about Germany in the 30"s. We are not Germany and this isn't the 30's. I've seen posts about Russia in the 70's. We aren't Russia and this isn't the 70's. We are, for better or worse, a nation of rebels. We have never been challenged quite like this before but I believe we will find our roots and do what we do best, rebel.
