Spygate was a matter of the Patriots filming from a location where teams normally did not film from, all teams filmed their opponent, usually from the booth or stands, the Patriots had a person on the sideline, which the NFL subsequently deemed unusual, but not illegal.

If you think Brady had footballs deflated, then you don't understand a reality of nature called the Ideal Gas Law. The law says that any gas exposed to it's environment will take on a Pressure and Volume that is dictated by the environment. In regards to the Patriots-Colts game, balls exposed to the wet, cold weather that night shrunk to a lower Pressure and Volume. The NFL read all Patriots balls, but only two of the Colts balls (one of which had low pressure and the second which was just in spec). Some of the Patriots balls were just in spec and some had low pressure - each team had something like 12 game balls and 4 or 5 kicking balls.
