(52,350 posts)talking about Christian Theocracy as if it's all one and the same is a major Trojan Horse.
Take Calvinism. Don't they believe that it's already determined who goes to heaven from the time of birth? And nothing you do, bad or good, is going to interfere with your divine destiny? Well, how would you like someone like that in control of our government. Someone who has no reason to consult with his conscience because he could call for mass genocide and he would still be accepted through the pearly gates -- or not. What does he have to lose?
And then there are other Christian religions who encourage their people to withhold information from people who aren't part of their belief-system. Can you imagine the impact of having someone like that at any level of authority where they are decision makers?
So, when people talk about Christian Theocracy, let's get down to the kibbles and bits. Identify the belief systems of each Christian denomination that will be counter-productive to the tenets of our Constitution.
