Second, at the risk of nit-picking, may I point out that the Baron's first name was Vladimir. OK, there's not much physical resemblance to another Vladimir, who's been in the headlines recently, but I try to look beyond physical appearances.

That said, Bannon does bear a striking resemblance to Harkonnen's nephew, the Beast Rabban.


Not to mention how the plot lines almost run completely parallel: the Count had Rabban do his very dirty ground work for him, while he tried to hover above the carnage. At least for a while.

Not sure whether or not Karma is a fan of Frank Herbert fantasy/fiction, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the current Beast Rabban eventually -- and perhaps not metaphorically -- suffers the same fate as the fictional one. I did try to find a link to a cinematic photo of the Beast's head on a platter, but Google failed me once again.

In the meantime, what harm would befall us if we started referring to Bannon as "The Beast"?
