In reply to the discussion: I must say, Lady Gaga rocked that mofo out [View all]LiberalLovinLug

I have to say I really wanted her to lay into Trump, or have some more symbolism in her stage or act. But I appreciated the first part with the Obama-like message of red and blue being one country. Anything more literal would invite all kinds of abuse against her and may just be worse in that it would open it up into a hate fest back and forth.
She kept her dignity and actually played 3D chess with all the pre-critics that were all ready with their poisoned pens to smear her. So she retains a reputation of impartiality which will serve her for any future moments when she wants to speak out more forcefully.

I'm really up on those symbols/images, but Gaga seemed...normal. Not at ALL like Madonna's.

She can sing a wide range of styles of music quite nicely. People often don't give her credit. nt

yeah I wouldn't expect her to do wide variety in a short halftime show for a superbowl. nt
